I qualified in beauty therapy and nail technology sixteen years ago and after working as a beauty therapist in a salon, I really enjoyed massage and the benefits it could have on an individual. This led me on to qualify as a complementary therapist in 1996.
In 2000 I began teaching at local colleges and in 2002 I gained my Certificate in Education teaching qualification. I am also qualified as a NVQ and VTCT nationally recognised Assessor and trainer.
My love of Reflexology and massage led me to study in more depth and in 2007 I completed a Bachelor of Science degree in complementary medicine. The degree included clinical aromatherapy clinical reflexology, Therapeutic massage, baby massage, nutrition, stress management and bach flowers. This gave me the opportunity to work in hospices and hospitals carrying out treatments on people with cancer, multiple sclerosis and other ailments, this was a very rewarding and invaluable experience.
In 2007 I achieved my dream of opening 'Escape' a Beauty & Complementary therapy salon. I am delighted to say this has been a wonderful journey. As a salon we support The Eve Appeal and I am also a voluntary regional ovarian cancer coordinator please look out for our fundraising events.
